Isla Mujeres Same Sex Marriage Proposal | LGBTQ Wedding Proposal | Missy + Jessica
I was incredibly honored to photograph the destination marriage proposal of Missy and Jessica on Isla Mujeres. Missy contacted me some time back and said she wanted to marry her love. She had never been to Isla Mujeres before, so I told her to look through my portfolio and choose a photo of a location that spoke to her. She choose an awe-inspiring cliff overhang at Punta Sur, the south side of the island. Missy and Jessica were staying in Cancun so they’d be coming to the island for the special proposal and dinner after on the beach. I helped Missy with the details on getting to the I DO spot so it would go smoothly for her as well as contacted the restaurant to make their reservation.
I was standing off in the distance ready when they walked out to the edge of the cliff. Missy got down on one knee as Jessica put her hands to her mouth in a look of pure joy! It was so special. So beautiful! After a bit of time, I walked out to them and told Jessica that Missy had hired me to capture their special moment and that we were now going to do their engagement session! We walked around the cliffs and stone walks of Punta Sur as photographed their love. They have an incredible energy together and I couldn’t be happier that they were lucky to find each other.
After our session at Punta Sur, we headed to Playa Norte in my golf cart for our continued session on the beach. Our engagement session ended with sunset and then I brought them over to Mayan Beach Club, a fabulous restaurant on the beach where a romantic table awaited them.
I wish you all the happiness in the world Missy and Jessica as you start this next venture together! Isla Mujeres is now part of your love story!
