Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal | Cancun Marriage Proposal | Ryan + Chelsie

“Cliff of the Dawn” is the easternmost point in Mexico and the first part of the country to be touched by the sun’s rays every morning and the perfect location for a destination marriage proposal in Mexico!

Ryan initially contacted me a month ago about his plans to propose marriage to the love of his life, Chelsie. They were staying at the Riu Caribe in Cancun, but he loved the photos he saw on my website of Isla Mujeres and especially Punta Sur, the south side of the island. The cliffs, clear-blue Caribbean Sea and crashing waves was the perfect setting to pop the question. As Ryan had never been to the island before, I helped him with a step-by-step guide on how to get to the spot he choose – the cliffs overlooking the sea.

Everything was going smoothly except there was a small delay in Ryan’s moment while he watched Chelsie at the edge of the cliff videoing the incredible views with her GoPro. As she was looking off over the blue waters, he backed up a bit and got down on one knee. When Chelsie turned and saw Ryan on his knee with the ring she was overtaken with joy! It was such an incredible moment and I was so happy to be there to capture it for them.

Following the initial joy of the moment, I went up and introduced myself and explained to Chelsie that we were now going to do their engagement photos. She was thrilled! We walked around Punta Sur taking photos and then headed to the beach in my golf cart to catch the sunset.

It was an amazing day for Ryan and Chelsie and I couldn’t be happier for this incredible couple!
