Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal and Engagement Photography | Nick + Nikki

Nick proposed marriage to Nikki during their vacation on Isla Mujeres at Punta Sur and she said YES!!

When the world was starting to shut down during that infamous month of March in 2020, a magical event occurred. Nick and Nikki met in New York. Nikki had just moved to New York for a job which, unfortunately, ended quickly because of the COVID shutdown. But….during that brief time, these two incredible people met and decided that there was something really special there so they decided to be in each other’s “COVID bubble”. Nikki moved back to her home state but that didn’t stop Nick. For the next eight months, he drove 4-5 hours each way for three weekends a month to visit Nikki.

Fast forward two years to the cliffs of Punta Sur on Mexico’s Isla Mujeres. Nick contacted me at the end of November explaining that he and the love of his life were going to be vacationing on Isla Mujeres and he wanted to pop the question and have me photograph the big event. He looked through my website and found the spot where he wanted to propose and I worked out a step-by-step instructional document that would give him the details he would need to get to the spot as they’ve never been to the island before.

The proposal went off without a hitch and Nikki was genuinely surprised when he got down on one knee. As she said “YES” yells of congratulations came from the cliff above as onlookers cheered to their new beginning.

I could not be happier for this wonderful couple and I was honored to capture Nick’s secret marriage proposal and engagement photos after the big “I DO”!
