Cancun Marriage Proposal | Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal | Ryan + Katie

Proposing marriage to your girlfriend while on vacation in Cancun has got to be the most romantic thing a guy could do and it’s actually what Ryan did!

Ryan and Katie were staying in Cancun at the all-inclusive resort of Riu Palace Peninsula, but when he researched the perfect place for his proposal, nothing could beat the cliffs of Isla Mujeres. The south point, Punta Sur in Spanish, is the eastern most part of Mexico and the first location the sun touches the country every morning. It is a magical place with breathtaking views out over the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Ryan was a bit nervous about coming to the island as he’d never been here before, but I assured him it was safe and I would help ease his concerns. As part of my package, I provide a very detailed step-by-step instruction sheet that spells out everything someone would need.

After looking through the images on my website, Ryan selected the cliff overlook at Punta Sur for his destination marriage proposal. While I was off in the distance with my friend (aka decoy), I photographed the moment when he got down on one knee and Katie’s incredibly sweet and overjoyed response to Ryan’s proposal. After the initial excitement of the moment, I went up and introduced myself and told Katie that Ryan had hired me to photograph his proposal and that we were now going to do their engagement photos. I think Katie was walking on a cloud through the whole session! Sooooo cute!!!!

This absolutely cute couple were introduced by Katie’s niece and they have been together since. Fast forward two years to yesterday, March 23, 2019, to THE MOMENT, THE SECOND of pure excitement and pure joy when Katie said YES to Ryan!
