Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal and Engagement Photos | Christian + Erin

Christian and Erin have vacationed on Isla Mujeres many times and it’s their favorite place so it was fitting that they got engaged on this beautiful Caribbean island in Mexico! When Christian first contacted me about photographing his secret proposal, I told him to look through my portfolio and choose the spot he thought would be perfect for them. He ended up choosing Half Moon Bay which happen to be the beach in front of their hotel which made it even easier!

The plan was for me to approach them when they were walking on the beach telling them I was ‘trying to build my portfolio and would they be interested in a mini photo session’. Erin took the bait and the ‘mock’ session began. Shortly into it, I asked her to look the other way which was Christian’s cue to get down on one knee. When she turned back to look at him, she realized what was happening. It was so wonderful and Erin’s reactions so sweet.

After the big I DO, we started their engagement session which included some photos at the recent boat that arrived with refugees from Cuba. We then jumped in my golf cart and headed to the other side of the beach for sunset photos.

Christian and Erin met in college and he had to work some to get her attention but here we are seven years later, and their love and connection couldn’t be stronger!
