Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal and Engagement | Tanner + Kaitlyn

Tanner and Kaitlyn got engaged on Isla Mujeres and I was so incredibly honored to be the photographer to capture the moment!

Tanner contacted me a few months back explaining that they were going to be vacationing on Playa Mujeres and wanted to come over to the island and propose to the love of his life. Tanner and Kaitlyn actually met in 7th grade, but they have been together for seven years. How wonderful is that!

He wanted the proposal to be a surprise with engagement photos following. He looked through the images on my website and set his sights on Punta Sur…particularity the lookout platform of the south point. I have to say, this is my favorite spot for proposals! The views out over the sea are incredible.

I supplied Tanner with detailed step-by-step instructions so it would help the surprise go flawlessly which it did!

Before they met up with me at Punta Sur, they rented a golf cart and explored the island and Playa Norte. They then dropped off the golf cart and jumped in a taxi to Punta Sur where I was waiting.

When they got to “The Spot”, Tanner got down on one knee while Kaitlyn was admiring the views with her back to him. The look on her face when she turned and realized what was happening was priceless!

After spending an hour with these two, it’s so incredibly clear to me that they are meant for each other and love one another so deeply. Isn’t that what it’s all about?!

After our time taking photos at Punta Sur, we jumped in my golf cart and headed over to Mar Bella, a seafood restaurant on the beach where they had dinner and watched the sunset.

It was an incredible honor to photograph the proposal and engagement photos for Tanner and Kaitlyn. I’m so happy they found each other…way back in 7th grade!!!
