Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal | Cancun Marriage Proposal | Chris + Allie

Chris contacted me about a month and a half ago sharing that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Allie. They were to be staying at the Valentin Imperial Maya Resort, an all-inclusive just outside of Playa del Carmen. Chris had seen my images from Isla Mujeres and knew this is where he wanted to proposal marriage to the love of his life! I explained that it would take about 1 1/2 hours between taxis and a ferry to get here, but that did not deter him. He wanted a magical spot to pop the question!

Neither Chris nor Allie had ever been to Isla Mujeres so I was excited to share the island with them! I gave Chris a detailed document with step by step instructions on how to get to the island and the specific spot he choose for the “I Do” from looking through my website photos.

I was set up in place early waiting for Chris and Allie to arrive at Punta Sur, the southern cliffs on Isla Mujeres. This location is also called “Cliff of the Dawn” as it’s the easternmost point in Mexico and where the sun’s rays first touch the country.

As Allie was looking out over the sea, Chris backed up a bit and got down on one knee. Allie turned to see him…her love…holding a diamond ring! She literally ran over to him with hair blowing all around from the high winds that afternoon. It was magical. Tender. And oh so loving!!!

After the initial excitement of the proposal, I went over to introduce myself and told Allie that Chris had hired me to capture his proposal and now we were going to do their engagement session! We walked around the cliffs of Punta Sur taking photos and then after, I brought them to Mar Bella to enjoy a cocktail and the sunset.

I’m so incredibly happy for this wonderful couple! Congratulations Chris and Allie!!!
