Isla Mujeres Marriage Proposal | Engagement Photos | Melissa + Frank

Isla Mujeres is the most romantic place in Mexico for a marriage proposal and a short 18 minute ferry ride from Cancun. When Frank started doing research on where to propose to his love while they were vacationing at Hyatt Ziva in Cancun, he found my website and saw photos of proposals I captured at Punta Sur, the south point of Isla Mujeres, and said this is the place!

Three years ago, Melissa and Frank met in Aruba while on vacation. Luckily for them, they only lived 45 minutes from each other back in the States! How fortunate they were! Fast forward three years to yesterday…the day that changed their lives forever! Frank choose the lookout point for his proposal spot and as Melissa looked out over the sea toward the mainland, Frank got down on one knee. Melissa turned to see him and initially wondered what was happening and then saw the ring! Well, you will see from the photos here that she was surprised, excited and overjoyed!  It was a magical moment!

After the initial hugs and kisses that followed Frank’s proposal, I introduced myself to Melissa from the cliff above where they were standing and told her that her ‘fiance’ had hired me to photograph his secret proposal and then we were going to be doing their engagement photos. Melissa was overjoyed!

After taking photos around Punta Sur, we hopped in my golf cart and headed to town to take more photos at the historic and colorful buildings and fishing boats. We then continued down to the beach of Playa Norte for some fun in the sand and water followed by sunset photos.

Frank also surprised Melissa with a special, romantic dinner on the beach at Mayan Beach Club after our photo session.

What a wonderful couple Frank and Melissa are and it was an honor to be there to photograph his proposal and their engagement session on Isla Mujeres!
