The sky was dark and ominous, but their love was bright and magical! On a stone lookout point overlooking the Caribbean Sea, John got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him. The look on Maren’s face was a dead give away of her answer. YES!!!!! He slipped the beautiful diamond ring on her finger and they hugged and kissed and laughed together. It was so incredibly special that I was tearing up myself! After a bit, I introduced myself and told Maren that John had contacted me about photographing his wedding proposal on Isla Mujeres and explained that we were then going to do their engagement session on the cliffs of Punta Sur!

They said that they were uncomfortable in front of the camera and needed guidance, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. They were naturals! Maren said that she absolutely loves Isla Mujeres and that it was her third visit to the island. This was John’s first, but he equally loved the island.

Our plan was to head to Playa Norte for sunset photos, but it started to rain so I got a taxi for them instead of having to ride in my golf cart. They headed to Mar Bella for a romantic dinner after our session.

I am so incredibly happy for this amazing couple and excited as they start this new chapter in their lives.
