Vela Vento Beach Club Wedding | Isla Mujeres Wedding Photography | Nikki + Taylor

I was so excited and honored when Nikki contacted me asking if I would be their wedding photographer for their destination wedding on Isla Mujeres at Vela Vento Beach Club. Vela Vento is a private beach club that hosts wedding ceremonies on their beach with amazing views of sunset over the Caribbean Sea.

I first met up with the happy couple for a special ‘first look’ on the grounds of Casa Elegante. We then jumped in a taxi and headed to Punta Sur for a pre-ceremony couple’s session among the cliffs and crashing waves of the south point of the island (which is also the most eastern point of all Mexico and the first place the sun touches the country each morning).

After our session at Punta Sur, we headed to Vela Vento for their destination wedding celebration. The bride was in hiding while the guests arrived for a celebratory cocktail before the ceremony.

As Nikki and Taylor said ‘I do’ on the beach just before sunset, their families and friends looked on with smiling faces and a few tears. After their first kiss as husband and wife, there was some very sweet and warm congratulations to the happy couple. We then did a big group photo of all their guests and then family photos after. As the guests were enjoying their cocktails, we grabbed a few amazing sunset photos of Nikki and Taylor.

After an amazing dinner and heart-filled speeches under the palapa, everyone headed back to the beach to watch the fire dancer show which was followed by a fabulous reception and much dancing.
