Villa Zyanya Destination Wedding on Isla Mujeres | Kirstin + Josh

Kirstin and Josh have been together for twelve years and engaged for five. They wanted something different for their wedding and the idea of a relaxed, non-traditional destination wedding on an island is Mexico fit the vibe they were looking for.

Kirstin and Josh had a special ‘first look’ in Zyanya’s gardens and then we took advantage of the beautiful architecture of the home with photographs around the property.

They wanted to read their vows to each other privately, so we headed to Punta Sur. It was a special moment and although I couldn’t hear what they were saying from my vantage points, I could easily tell that this couple have a deep and enduring love for each other.

Their ceremony and reception took place at my favorite house on the island – Villa Zyanya – a luxury home on the Carribean Sea on Isla Mujeres. When their guests arrived, they were greeted with a refeshing coconut drink before taking their seats overlooking the sea for the ceremony.

Before Kirstin walked down the aisle, she had a special ‘first look’ with her dad in the garden. It was so sweet and a wonderful moment for them both.

A friend of the couple’s performed the ceremony that included tender moments and laugher. There were hugs and much happiness following their ceremony with family and friends.

As the light faded, we took advantage of the dramatic sky with some photographs on the cliffs and in the ruins on the property.

After the reception, they made a grand exit with sparklers. A grand send off to an amazing couple!
